Discover what happens during a Health Check and how you can help us out to make your results accurate.
The 20-minute health assessment gives you a snapshot of your overall health. The questionnaire involves all aspects of lifestyle and the assessment itself is a combination of reviewing these answers along with taking measurements such as blood pressure and also a finger prick test that measures blood cholesterol and glucose.
Your appointment is completely confidential. The health assessment is a benefit you receive working within your company. It is an opportunity for you to perhaps undertake an assessment you wouldn’t ordinarily do under your own accord, understand your personal health further and reflect on any personal health goals you wish to achieve. No individual clinical records will be given to your employer.
Your results are stored by Healthbox as per health privacy laws. These individual results are not shared with your employer or any other third party. Healthbox is an external health service provider and we will not disclose any personal health information with your employer. When results are requested from employers, should there be a large enough sample, we compile aggregate reports of the whole company population which may assist in tailoring future programs according to the areas with most concern. For example, your employer may receive results stating 20% of your total employee population recorded in the medium risk category for high blood pressure.
There are a few things we need to you do prior to your Health Check to ensure your results are accurate:
All Healthbox health professionals are either degree qualified exercise physiologists, dietitians or nurses. They all share a common desire to assist the community with healthy lifestyles and health behaviour change.
Yes, of course. This assessment complements any other assessment undertaken by your own personal health professional. Given you may already be aware of your own personal risk factors and potentially be addressing these already, the assessment can give you the opportunity to review the measurements and see if they have changed and also work on any health behaviour change with our consultants.
Yes, of course. Being pregnant can impact on some of the results and may mean that certain elements of the assessment (eg: waist measurement) will not be taken. It gives a great opportunity to review your health and wellbeing throughout and to discuss with a health professional.
