What Does My Risk Level Mean?

During your skin check our clinician determines your risk level as a result of a range of factors. Discover what your risk level means for you.

Our body is made up of cells, little building blocks that when joined together form organs and ultimately us as a whole. Cancer arises from changes in these cells that result in abnormal growth.

The different types of skin cancer are named after the skin cells from which they originate. This test only looks at the risk of developing cancer that originates in one of these cells; melanocytic cells. It is called melanoma and it is the most serious form of skin cancer.

Risk Level and Recommendation

  • Low - Skin check with a periodic medical examination
  • Medium - Annual skin examination
  • High - Annual skin examination and referral
  • Very High - Immediate referral to a specialist
